Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most commonly asked questions about Vastu Shastra, construction, and sacred remedies.

  • East facing site is the Best
  • North facing site is Better
  • West facing site is Good
  • South facing site is not Bad

Note

Direction of the site facing in particular depends on the buyer's horoscope and their requirement.

Any number of doors — either odd number or even number — both are good (avoid 10, 20, 30, 40, 50… number of doors).

It is the position of the door that is more important than the number of doors. The door should lie in an exalted position (Uchha Sthaan) of the building or wall and also be free from door offset and door obstacles.

Note

Seven doors (odd) are favorable to Lord Vishnu's temple. Three doors (odd) are favorable to Lord Karthikeya and Kuja temples. Five doors (odd) are favorable to temples of Goddesses.

In general, the following things are considered for starting construction:

  • Time — After sunrise, advisable for Bhoomi Puja
  • Day— Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday
  • Week — After Amavasya (Half-moon day) and before Pournima (Full Moon day)

In particular, TIME is selected based on the horoscope of the owner, nature of work, purpose and other aspects of the calendar.

Also Note

Along with the time (Muhurtham) and day selected for starting construction, the following should also be considered:

  • Plan made as per Vaasthu
  • Availability of sufficient funds
  • Site should be even in surface and free from waste materials and debris
  • Owner and family members should be healthy and active
  • Availability of construction workers
  • The day should be free from rainfall and heavy winds
